Staying Safe & Healthy in School
Our most important job is to keep children safe and healthy. Feeling safe, both physically and emotionally, helps kids to be happy and ready to learn. Please talk with your child about his/her important jobs in helping themselves, classmates and teachers to stay safe and happy. Practicing these safety routines at home will help to make them feel more natural and comfortable for everyone in school.
Masks
Flexible masking began in February 2022. As of April 25, 2022, the only place masks are required at school is in the nurse's office. If you want your child to wear a mask at school, please talk with your child about that expectation. It's also important to talk about respecting everyone's choice to either wear a mask or not based on their personal needs or needs of their family members.

Wash your hands.
Thorough and frequent hand washing is one of the most effective ways to keep ourselves safe. Have kids practice washing with soap and counting to 20 (or by 5s to 100 to integrate a math goal) while they wash. Remind your child to keep your hands away from your face to keep the germs away!
