# Line Squeeze

Materials: # line, 2 markers (like pennies) to mark the high and low points on the # line
Directions: Player 1 picks a # and writes it down without showing his/her partner. Player 2 guesses a number within the range. Player 1 tells if their guess is too high or too low and moves the pennies to show the new range. The round ends when player 2 guesses the number. Players switch roles and play again.

Materials: Die, record sheet ( you can make your own)
Directions: Roll the die. Mark that number with a tally mark. When one of the numbers reaches 20 tallies, play stops. Count and record # of tallies for each row.

Materials: a deck of playing cards Aces (1)-10s, face cards removed
Directions: Spread the cards out in rows and columns. Player 1 turns over a card. If they gets a 10 on the first turn they take it and play goes to the next player. If they get any other card, they say the # that they need to make 10 before turning over another card. If they get it they take the pair of cards. If not, they tell whether that sum is more/less than 10 (or for a challenge tell the sum) then turn the cards back over before the next player takes a turn.
Hint: If you child is still working on learning the compliments of 10, encourage them to count on, instead of counting all, to figure it out. You can also use the "rainbow facts" paper that was done earlier in the year.
